Solar geoengineering has potential to cause irreparable harm to earth systems and populations already most directly negatively impacted by global climate change. Investments in solar geoengineering technocratic “solutions” are a distraction from responsible research focused on ending fossil fuel dependency and identifying viable adaptation and mitigation strategies.
