“Solar Geoengineering Non-Use Agreement Initiative”, hereinafter “SolarGeoeng” processes personal data and uses cookies for this website. In this Privacy Statement, we inform you about the purposes for which personal data are processed, how you can exercise your privacy-related rights and provide other information that may be of interest to you. The Cookie Statement describes the cookies we use.

SolarGeoeng handles personal data with care and acts within the limits of the law, i.e. the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). SolarGeoeng is the responsible party within the meaning of the GDPR. SolarGeoeng. We want to be open and transparent about the way in which your data is processed by us. What personal data we collect and why we collect it

You can visit most portions of Solar Geoengineering Non-Use Agreement Initiative website without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. You also have the “Right to be Forgotten” and can write to [email protected] to request that all your personal data as collected by SolarGeoeng is removed from all our records, if you have any in our records. If you do this, you would be withdrawing your public support for our initiative, as you would not be a signatory or endorser of the Open Letter anymore, in case this is the information you would like to be deleted.

The SolarGeoeng will notify authorities within 72 hours in case of any data breaches.

Visitors under the age of 13 (US) or 16 (EU & elsewhere) should not send personal information without their parent/guardian’s consent. If we have reason to believe that someone is underage and we have collected their personal information without proper consent, we will delete that information in a reasonable period of time.

Cookies and Session Tracking

SolarGeoeng may place a “cookie”, which is a small file in the browser files of a visitor’s computer. We use cookies to save information so that you do not have to re-enter it each time you visit our website. Session tracking is means recognizing your entire visit and remembering which steps you have taken. Our website uses cookies, or functionally equivalent technology, to track sessions.

This website contains links to other websites that do not belong to SolarGeoeng. We cannot accept responsibility for the way in which these parties deal with personal data. We give the opportunity to supporters to to voluntarily share their email address and other personally identifiable information with us, because we cannot build momentum to ban Solar Geoengineering technologies without widespread support. All such information is collected and stored in a manner appropriate to the nature of the data.

SolarGeoeng makes every effort to ensure the secure collection and transmission of sensitive user information using industry-accepted data collection and encryption methodologies. We use WordPress and Mailchimp as our service providers and you can read their privacy policies on their main websites. By default, WordPress or Mailchimp do not share any personal data with anyone.

We do not sell, trade, exchange, or reveal to anyone the specific or individual-level information in any data you provide us with.

SolarGeoeng does not sell or otherwise disclose user information outside the organization for commercial purposes. If you sign up to receive updates from SolarGeoeng or if you sign on to support any of our online petitions, such as the Open Letter, or actions, we commit to providing you with accurate and timely information about our initiative activities.
