Stratospheric Aerosol Injection is a highly consequential technology with which a few actors in a few places could affect global climatic change. This kind of technology is at odds with the plural and multi-faceted values and interests of the global population. Equitable, inclusive and democratic governance of such an intervention is not attainable. A non-use agreement is the best way to address the widespread political uncertainty associated with this technology.
