I have worked on this issue since before 2010 and feel that it is essential to oppose the idea that technological fixes can enable us to avoid changing our current model of economic development based on endless growth, plus the gross inequities this generates.

This model has already caused major inequalities, breached planetary boundaries and disrupted many planetary systems to the detriment of biodiversity, ecosystems, and climate. If we do not address it, we risk wiping ourselves out and taking with us much of the extraordinary life of this unique planet.”
